  • Monday, August 23rd 4:00pm-7:00pm (clarinet/double reed) with Lenora Schneller and CJT
  • Tuesday, Aug. 24th 12:30pm-4:30pm (trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba) with Eric Nathan and CJT
  • Wednesday, Aug. 25th (1st day of classes!) 4:30-6:30pm (french horn) with Ilze Brink and CJT
  • Wednesday, Aug. 25th 6:30-8:30pm (saxophone) with CJT in B08
  • Thursday, Aug. 26th 5:00pm-7:00pm (Percussion) with Timothy Feeney
  • Friday, Aug. 27th 2:30pm-5:30pm (Piano, string bass, harp, any other instrumentalists with previous conflicts)

Dr. Beth Peterson – CUWS

Hello! My name is Beth Peterson and I wanted to introduce myself, as I will be the conductor of the CU Wind Symphony this fall while CJT is on leave. I look forward to working with and meeting all of you. My full time job is at Ithaca College where I conduct the Symphonic Band, teach conducting and supervise student teachers in music education. If you are new to CU, I would like to encourage you to check out this website further and to sign up for an audition time. If you are returning to CU, I would also encourage you to sign up for an audition time especially if you were a member of the CU Winds last year. I have chosen some great repertoire for this fall (including William Byrd Suite, Children’s March and a new John Mackey piece called Undertow) and I am really excited about our semester together! Dr. Steve Peterson – CUWE

Greetings Cornell wind and percussion players! I am excited to meet you and get to know you as visiting conductor of the CU Wind Ensemble during the upcoming fall semester. My name is Steve Peterson. I am currently the wind ensemble conductor at the Ithaca College School of Music. It is my real pleasure and honor to be “filling in” for CJT during her sabbatical. I have heard the CU Wind Ensemble on many occasions in the past twelve years, and look forward to making some great music with you. I think you’ll enjoy the planned repertoire, and I encourage ALL wind players, both new and returning, to audition this fall. ]]> The Wind Ensemble performed at four events this Commencement 2010.  On Saturday, we began the day with a sound check in Schoellkopf stadium, followed by the Convocation ceremony, then our Senior Week Concert in the Arts Quad, then the PhD ceremony in Barton Hall. Long day!  On Sunday, we performed for Commencement ceremonies, one of our favorite events of the year. Highlights of the weekend…4 standing ovations during our Senior Week Concert…Nancy Pelosi coming over and thanking the ensemble during Convocation…”The Wiz” played 4 times; each time more smokin’ then the last…hearing President Skorton congratulate CU Winds on our service projects in Philadelphia and Costa Rica during his Commencement speech …watching our seniors stand in the ensemble with pride…Soolean’s sliver. CU Winds wishes each of the graduating seniors a fond farewell. We will miss you…Congratulations all!!!
