Razing the Bar Tracks Now Available

Three tracks from CU Winds’ CD “Razing the Bar” are now available for free download. A hard copy of the full CD will be available in the Fall of 2009. If you would like to make a donation, all of your money will be used for the CU Winds Costa Rica Project, which brings instruments to children studying music in Costa Rica. Please use the secure online donation form.

CJT in Costa Rica May 17-June 4

Cynthia Johnston Turner will be in Costa Rica May 17-June 4 laying the groundwork for the CU Winds/Costa Rica Project III planned for January 2010, guest conducting the National Band of San Jose, the University of Costa Rica Wind Ensemble, and the Instituto Nacional de Musica Wind Ensemble, as well as giving a week-long series of masterclasses in conducting and teaching to professional orchestra and wind band conductors. Visits are planned in San Isidro and Poas where the Wind Ensemble visited and donated instruments in 2008, as well as a visit to Limon where there is a SINEM school. (SINEM is the new national system of music education in Costa Rica, modeled after El Sistema in Venezuela.)
